With nothing to lose, Gazans join Palestinian unrest

Samir rushes forward and hurls the flaming bottle with all his might at the observation tower and the Israel soldiers inside, his contribution to the “intifada”. “We either kick out the Jews or we die,” says the 20-year-old Palestinian, one of hundreds protesting violently near the Gaza Strip’s border with Israel. Gaza, the tiny enclave on the Mediterranean hit by three wars with Israel since 2008, has been drawn into the unrest that erupted recently in annexed east Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.

Issue prudently loaded debit cards to every Palestinian, guaranteeing free, safe housing and utilities, free nutritious food, free basic clothing, free health/mental care, and free education; funded, not by loan, but by grants from the World Bank and the IMF (International Monetary Fund). With the granted spending power, businesses would be established in Gaza and the West Bank that need young, strong employees to provide these things to the people. The teenagers through 30′s youth when then have opportunity and something of worth to live for. Then, if not grants, low interest loans to be paid back from a low percentage tax on the profits of the businesses that spring up to take care of the people’s basic needs. One of these two options IS THE ONLY WAY TO HELP THE ECONOMY IN A SELF-SUSTAINING AND PRODUCTIVE WAY in that part of the world!
