The foundation for the United States as an independent nation was laid by 15th Century European refugees fleeing corrupt governments. Except for Native Americans, all U.S. citizens are immigrants.
Once free to think for themselves and exercise free will without the fear of persecution by religion or prosecution by the state, the new Americans began to prosper in North America unlike any group of people in history. Americans have prospered to a point where they can turn a desert into a prospering city that feeds, houses, clothes, and provides services for millions of temporary immigrants. Las Vegas, Nevada is an example of this.
The United States is about the same size as China, yet it has 1/3 the amount of people as China. The United States could support the millions of “new” Americans, if it so chose to open up its shores to, what its most renown landmark states:
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!“
The Humanity Party® believes that the United States should stand behind its offer and promise to the world, and allow anyone who wishes to immigrate to America the ability to do so without judgment, prejudice, or any other requirement than being human. The United States should help people come to America by offering social programs that the people can depend on once they come to it shores.
Upon allowing and offering a place of refuge for those wishing to escape a corrupt government, more people will want to leave such nations. As more people leave, the corrupt government will make a better effort to support the people so that more people have the desire to stay.
This is the way to peace on Earth.
If the United States persists on limiting the number of immigrants, it will send a message that people are not wanted. A person who feels their life is worthless to others, does things that demonstrates their life IS of worth. Many of the things that the rejected do to demand respect and value is commit terrorist acts against those who reject and devalue them.
The United States of America should be the example for the world to follow.
Or it should remove the hypocritical statement at the base of its Statue of Liberty.
THumP® has the solutions. No one else does.®
